Isaiah 19:20 "It will be a sign and a witness to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt; when they cry to the Lord because of oppressors he will send them a savior, and will defend and deliver them."

 

Chapter 19 of Isaiah is an oracle against Egypt, this part of which fortells that there will be an altar and pillar to the Lord erected by those in Egypt who swear allegiance to the Lord. That altar and pillar will serve as a sign and a witness to Him. (Isaiah 19:18-19).

 

When we feel like strangers in a strange land, as we more and more do in this world, God sees us and knows us. He has sent us a Savior, He will defend and deliver us. While we wait for that deliverance, our job is to serve as signs and witnesses to the Lord of hosts in this land of strange gods.
